As well as targeting the specific area(s) of concern, we work with you to determine the underlying cause of your hyperpigmentation.

Autumn and Winter are great times to embark on your MELINE journey with Estetica Permanent Cosmetics, as the skin can become hypersensitive to the sun whilst you are using the products, so you need to avoid sun exposure / wear a sunblock.

MeLine Skin products are essentially addressed to the treatment of melasma in skin phototypes I – IV (Caucasion Skin) and V - VI (Ethnic Skin) . The synergy of its actives allows: the inhibition of hormonal activity on the melanocyte, controlling the activity of free radicals, improving the condition of the epidermal tissue, chelation of the minerals that activate enzymatic activity, blocking tyrosinase activity, promoting epidermal renewal to remove the content of pigment in the cell.

The treatment protocol includes two homecare products that work in synergy and complement the professional treatment applied by the specialist. These two products will help to control the activity of melanin and the production of tyrosinase enzyme. They are essential to complete the treatment as they enhance its efficacy and prolong its effects.

Your skin will be cleansed and prepared with a special product to alter the pH of your skin and to fully absorb the product.

The product will be applied and left on for the specific duration required (this varies from treatment to treatment). Some treatments have 2 layers applied before being removed, others will be occluded with a plaster and you will remove the product at home later in the day (Spot Treatments) as advised by us. See the treatment option slideshow below for full details.

You will be provided with your homecare product and advised how and when to use it- these products are not an optional add on, they form part of your ongoing treatment and are included in your treatment cost.

The peel may tingle a little as it is applied, but this is not painful.

Once you are home and have started the homecare element of your treatment, you may see various things- everyone's skin reacts differently.Your skin may or may not peel, starting at around 3 days. Some people will experience nothing (it is still working)! Others may have a lot of shedding and the skin may look pinkish initially.

You may feel red and feel warm to the touch for a few days- you may want to arrange your diary around this for the first week!  You may see a reduction in the pigmentation after 2-4 weeks after the skin cells have turned over ad removed some of the pigment. The Pigmentation generally will get darker before it gets better.

Retinoids and Glycolic Acid treatments should be ceased 2 weeks prior to and post treatment
